₹49 per check · result in seconds · no sign-in
You get one of three answers
The tag status and the balance sit at the top of the report in large type, with the time of the lookup printed next to them.
Active tag with balance
The FASTag network shows an active tag for this registration. The report prints the available balance and the recharge limit as of the lookup time, the issuing bank and the vehicle class on the tag.
Tag found, not active
A tag is linked to the number but its status is not Active: it may be blocked, hotlisted or closed. The status is printed as the network returned it. The balance, if any, is shown with it.
No FASTag found
The FASTag network holds no tag linked to this registration number. This can mean no tag was issued, or that the number could not be matched. That is a delivered answer. Check the number before running it again.
When to check the FASTag balance by number
The balance lives with the issuing bank, not on the sticker. Knowing it by vehicle number saves a bank login, a toll-plaza argument or a double payment.
- Before a long drive A tag that runs out at the plaza can mean paying a higher fee at the plaza. One check tells you whether to recharge first.
- A vehicle you use A family car, company car or hired vehicle you use. The number is all you need to see the balance.
- Buying a used vehicle The seller's tag stays linked to the registration number. Knowing the status and balance tells you whether to ask the seller to close their tag when the sale is completed, so their account is not charged for your tolls.
- A toll charged twice If the plaza says low balance and charges cash, the balance as of the lookup time is your evidence when you take it up with the bank.
- Fleet and commercial vehicles Operators with several vehicles can check each tag's balance by number instead of logging in to several bank portals.
- Which bank issued it If you do not know where the tag came from, the report names the issuing bank so you know whom to recharge with or call.
What the report shows
Tag status
Active, or the status word the FASTag network returned, in large type at the top.
Balance as of the lookup time
The available balance and the available recharge limit, in rupees, with the date and time they were read. A toll crossed after that time is not yet reflected.
Issuing bank
The bank or issuer the tag belongs to, so you know where to recharge.
Vehicle class on the tag
The vehicle class code and its description, for example car, jeep or van, as held by the network. A wrong class means wrong toll charges.
Account holder
The registered customer's name as first name and initials, and the vehicle model where the network holds it. A masked name helps you cross-check with the seller.
PDF you keep
Download the report before you leave. We keep no copy. The same device can reopen it free for 24 hours.
What is not included
This check reads the FASTag network for one registration number. It does not touch your bank account and it cannot change anything.
- Recharging or blocking the tag The report shows the balance. Recharging, blocking or closing the tag is done with the issuing bank it names.
- Toll transaction history Individual toll deductions are held by the bank. The report gives the balance and recharge limit as of the lookup time, not a statement.
- The tag ID The tag ID is not shown. The full customer name, phone number and address are never shown.
- RC, owner or challan details Registration status, owner, insurance and pending challans come from different records. Use RC Details, Challan Check or the Used Car History Check for those.
How it works
Enter the number
Type the registration number as it appears on the plate. Standard series and Bharat series both work.
Pay ₹49
UPI, card or net banking. One payment, no subscription. Your mobile and email are taken first so a refund can always reach you.
Read the balance
The report renders in a few seconds and states the time of the lookup. Download the PDF if you need it as evidence for a double toll charge.
If the balance is low or the tag is not active
The report names the issuing bank, which is where every change is made.
- Low balance: recharge through the issuing bank's app or any UPI app that supports FASTag recharge, using the vehicle number.
- Blocked or hotlisted: call the issuing bank. The usual causes are a negative balance, a KYC gap or a duplicate tag.
- Buying the vehicle: ask the seller to close their tag when the sale is completed, then take a new tag in your own name so the balance and the tolls are yours.
- Only want to know whether a tag exists and is active? FASTag Status Check (₹49) answers that one question.
The other checks
Every check reads one registration number and shows one report. Pick the question you need answered.
