Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the Vahan Verify report
What is Vahan Verify?
Vahan Verify is a one-time digital report on any Indian vehicle, available as seven checks. The Full Report (₹149) pulls the complete Registration Certificate (RC) data from the official government VAHAN database — owner name, make, model, year, fuel type, RC status, insurance, fitness, loan status, blacklist status and permits — plus the list of pending traffic challans. Five single-question checks cost ₹99 each: RC Details (the VAHAN data alone), Challan Check (the pending challans alone — buying both separately costs ₹198, so the Full Report saves you ₹49), Blacklist Check (blacklisted or not, with the RTO's own note printed as written), RC Status Check (is the RC active, or cancelled / suspended?) and Stolen Vehicle Check (is this registration in the reported stolen vehicle records, and what do the FIR facts say?). One FASTag check costs ₹49: FASTag Status (is a FASTag linked and active, and with which bank?).
Is the data official?
Yes. The RC checks pull data directly from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways VAHAN registry through a regulated data partner — the same record an RTO officer sees when they query your vehicle. Challans come from the traffic authority records, the FASTag checks from the FASTag network, and the Stolen Vehicle Check from the reported stolen vehicle records, all through the same regulated partner.
How long does a report take?
Typically 5 to 10 seconds after payment. The report renders the moment the lookup answers; the Full Report runs the RC lookup first and the challan lookup straight after it.
Which vehicles does it work for?
All four-wheelers, two-wheelers, three-wheelers and commercial vehicles registered anywhere in India. You need the 10-character registration number.
Do you store my report?
No. The full report content is shown on your screen once and deleted from our servers the moment you leave the page. We retain only transaction metadata (phone, payment, make/model) for support and accounting. Download the PDF before closing the tab.
Is the PDF emailed?
No. To protect your privacy, the PDF is generated in your browser and downloaded directly to your device, and we store no server copy. The report is never emailed. The one email we may send is a refund confirmation, if the check fails and we owe you money back. If you lose the PDF, come back within 24 hours on the same device and browser — the page offers to open your report again free. After 24 hours a fresh check has to be purchased.
Does Vahan Verify guarantee the vehicle is safe to buy?
No. Vahan Verify is an informational report on the paperwork status of a vehicle. It does not assess mechanical condition, accident history, or title disputes.
What if the RC is BLACKLISTED or CANCELLED?
The report surfaces this clearly. Never purchase a vehicle with these statuses — ownership transfer is legally blocked until the flag is cleared with the issuing RTO. Walk away.
What is the refund policy?
If we could not complete a check and no report is rendered, the fee you paid is refunded to your original payment method within 7 working days. Successfully generated reports are non-refundable since the digital service is consumed on delivery. A verdict is a delivered report: "No FASTag found", "Not reported stolen" and "more than one RTO record" are answers to the question you paid for and are not refunded. Full details on the
refund policy page.
Is the Stolen Vehicle Check a police clearance?
No. It searches the reported stolen vehicle records available to us as of the lookup time and shows any FIR facts on record — FIR number, date, state, district, police station and status. A clear result means no record was found in those records at that moment; it is not a police clearance certificate and does not replace one. Complainant details are never shown.
